how about that new boat thunder

thunder let me drive it at the monthly run and I havent been right since!! its very very fast and rides very nice!! I have been try to figure out how to convince the wife that upgrading the boat and motor is more important than stucco, paint and landscaping the house

Thunders boat is awsome It looks and runs as good as it sounds. Croc tried to get it stuck in the mud if he would tell the truth LOL but it didnt and yes I am keenly aware that all boats will get stuck sometime or another. Way to go thunder you done good

Thanks a lot for the complements guys. I had a blast riding with you all and I finally can put some faces to some names. I must admit for the very first time in my entire life I have something that I have no desire to change or improve. My wife made me say it twice and had me speak into microphone and she still doesn’t believe I said it. I took her out today and we rode all over and even raced a few times and burnt less than 12 gallons of fuel.

Way cool looking boat:

Gotta agree with Croc1!

The "rumbling" from that monster has still got my heart offbeat a rythym or two!

When he fires the boat, just do 3 things!

Stop, look and listen for the very little time you see the boat before it's out of sight!

Thanks again Waterthunder!

Hey basket case did you get a chance to run your boat some more with less pitch how did it run. I would think even in the water you should have noticed it had more snap. I’m actually going to install mufflers on my boat shortly I’m just waiting for them to come back from ceramic coating. I found a neat set of small mufflers that I just love their tone and they are really quite The amazing thing is how well they flow I’m going to test one on the flow bench just to se how restrictive they are. Can’t wait for the next ride.

Nice rig Waterthunder.
Who built that hull?
Just wondering cause it looks good.

Also,
Please let me know how those mufflers work.
I want some small, but efficient mufflers for our boats. Don't even know where to start looking.

Some of the ones iv'e seen out there are just too big for our boats.
As you've got a full deck now, you can see that room inside the cage could become an issue with mufflers. At least for me it is.

Thanks for the complement the hull is a riveted Diamondback it’s like a Thurman hull. She rides like a sprint car and that’s how I like em ya steer with your right foot. The reason I went with a Diamondback because most hull builders wanted to build a hull the way they wanted. Diamondback changed a lot of things that I requested at no extra cost thinks like side height, bottom width and length, location of gas tank and compartment doors. I couldn’t possibly be any happier with this boat. I had Hammant rig it out because I like their rigging the best. Its simple, light and strong them guy’s get a little creative and artistic with their rigging and it looks really clean and uncluttered. The motor is one of my all aluminum 550hp ls-1. I don’t know if it’s more the hull or motor but I’m getting incredible fuel economy as are other people who have purchased these motors.

hey thunder my new boat is a 12'6 diamond back deck over with a 520 cont. mine hops just a little when turning unless under throttle does your's do the same or is this a weight placement issue other than that the boat is perfect no poirpose no matter what pass. config.

That is the only thing my hull does that I don’t like it’s a small trade off for everything else it does awesomely. However usually I just stab the throttle for a sec and the hopping stops. I can tell you be careful not to slide sideways into a wake it will roll your boat over. My old deck would have rolled if I didn’t have a nasty motor on it that over powered the boat roll. Is your hull like mine?

Yeah i believe so it looks the same mine is a 2003 12'6 full deck. I'm really imperssed with the handling but it does that little hop in turns i was told this was normal for this hull type but i didn't know anyone that had the same and like you said it a small thing i can live with for such a good ride everywhere else
