How bout this ride!

A buddy and I put in yesterday at 50 at 12.00 oclock pm and headed south. Took our time and was just riding. We stopped at all the local shanty's and wet our whistle. Leaving possum's bluff a few way's down I saw what looked like a guy holding a rope with a canoe upside down. Well as I got closer I realized it was an airboat, upside down. To make a long story short we rolled the boat over hooked ropes to it and pulled it to the bank pumped the water out loaded the guy, his wife and daughter up in our boats and towed them to 520. After we ate and wet our whistle again (Thank God) we headed back to 50 and continued to Bear Bluff until late, late. After the fog started to set in we headed back to 50 and called it a night. or day, whatever you call that. What a ride! Whooooo!

Most people would look the other way, but not most AIRBOAT people!! Just most people. That's the one thing that sets this group of folks apart, and I'm proud to be associated with all of you. Gatorchaser, you ROCK!!

Points to a higher class of folks. Folks who can still have fun helping someone they didn't plan on. To me its the being out, not the destination.

Two Sundays in a row I had to pull airboats in this year . Both times I was out of 520. The first time I was in my airboat and my buddy blew his engine just west of Cow Sh#t Hill. I tried to pull him with my airboat without much luck. I don't like pulling boats with my airboat and think it's very dangerous. Had to go all the way back home, put up the airboat, get the jonboat and go back and get him. The following Sunday I was in my jonboat north of 528 and had to tow a boat that had sunk but was pulled out. First I had to go all the way back to 520 to drop off my sister who had to get back home to Clearwater and then go back. But that's the rule, period! There is no question about helping. I've been there before and I'll be there again.
