How do you cut a magnet?

I have some magnets that are shaped like a washer and would like t cut them in half

(two half moons). Any ideas?

Score them with something and break em would be my guess. or use a diamond blade. I have some little diamond impregnated wheels for my dremel that would work if the magnets weren't too big.

Neat question ....... I don't know that I've ever seen it asked. My first guess would be to break them if you can.
Let us know what worked, or if they lost any of their properties when you were done.

10-4 Olf

I want to Mount some 12v lights in my tool boxes and might want t move them

around a little. I thought gluing magnets to the back might work but I only have a

couple

Electronic discharge machine or some $hit lol. Basically is a really expensive machine that has a .010 (come in different sizes but i use .01)thick brass wire that is electrified and cuts steels and aluminum. Made for real precision work.

The Dremel Tool did not work it would have taken along time to cut through with an

abrasive wheel. The magnet was too hard for the band saw. In the end I just snapped

it in half. Thanks for the suggestions.

DUH,,, Why don't you just use a magnet cutter? Don't all of you also have a magnet cutter in your tool box??????? I bought a set that came with 3 different sizes.. I keep it in the same drawer as my aluminum pick up magnets, metric cresent wrenches, and left hand screw drivers..............................had to post could not pass it up......Mike
