How is "spatter paint" done?

Let me preface this question with this: I am banned in at least three states from even handeling paint.
Seriously, how is it done?
with a spray-gun with the pressure down and the volume up?
My favorite is a OD-Green with canary yellow, and some fine specks of red, white, and black. Really blends in after a ride in the marsh.

with pressure pot lower air pressure with cup spray off a popcicle stick at a 45degree angle easyer with pressure pot

use .33 acetone, .33 webbing solution, .33 gelcoat. Easiest with a webbing gun, but a gelcoat gun will work also.

I would be using a Binks style gun, proabably acrylic spraying enamel. I presume one would spray the primary color and then spray the rest in descending order baised on amounts. Is there a paint of choice? (keeping in mind that "painters" stick with whatever they've become accustom to)

You should be able to use any paint.you will have to play with the amount of soap you use and the pressure of the gun.
