how to remove oil fill neck on a 220 case?

tired of the oil coming out from under the oil cap, tried new gaskets ect, my plan is to get a steel fuel fill weld on filler neck and o-ring non vented cap, tig it to the top of the stock filler neck, but don't want to do it while its still in the case, are these filler necks just pressed in? can i use a pipe wrench or something to remove it?

When you have it off you can weld a vent line to it too. That will also take some crankcase pressure off the oil fill cap. Post some pictures of your progress for the rest of us 220 GPU owners.

the oil fill neck on mine already has a 1" vent, going to call and find out if the aircraft case uses a different cap, i never see aircraft continental cases leak from around the cap, so hopefully, the hole in the case is the same between the gpu and aircraft.that way, just swap out filler necks.

Should work. I just measured one of my 220 GPU oil filler necks and it is one and one half inches O.D. I checked my O-300 and it is the same except a lot shorter. The caps on each are identical.

The other Continentals don't build up as much crankcase pressure. I've never seen anything like the 220 GPU.

so i guess the gpu and aircraft filler caps are the same, so going to get the weld on filler neck and cap, should take care of the oil leak.
