Hurricane victims separated from their homes by a newly formed lake are getting the ride of their life.
Residents of the Peace Creek RV Park in Lake Wales are speeding home on airboats.
It's the only way in and members of the Florida Airboat Association said they're happy to give rides whenever needed.
"I think this is taking something bad and making something good out of it," stated a member of the Florida Airboat Association. "This is making these people happy and giving something exciting to take from a disastrous situation."
The airboat drivers said the unusual circumstances have created strong bonds between them and the residents they're helping.
Members of the Florida Airboat Association have been transporting residents to their homes for about two weeksand they plan on helping them out whenever they're needed, which may be another month.
"We hope it doesn't take that long, but we could be here a considerable amount of time."
