I bought a new Q Series

I was looking at buying a used Q Series off the trader, but I couldn't pin the guy down about when I could come get it. It was as if he didn't want to sell the thing. I just decided to buy a new one. Bruce in Eureka had a 72" in stock so I went and got it.

I put it on today and set it on 1-1/2. I am turning it 3,050 wide open. It seems to have as much push as the one I tried on 2 the other week, but just more RPM and a lot more snap.

The slight vibration that I experienced on the other prop also doesn't seem to be present. Sensenich recommends indexing the hub on the engine if vibration is experienced, so maybe I just got real lucky on the first try, or maybe I got it tracked better. While the engine is idling, you can see the two pitch setting stickers and there is NO movement...one sticker tracks EXACTLY where the other sticker does. I thought that was kinda neat.

My boat runs dry ground now far better than before. I can stop on dry ground, and take off again at around 2500 RPM. It even goes UP HILL just as easy.

The boat will stay on plane in deep water at 16 to 1700 RPM and I am still amazed at how quiet these things are.

I'll say it again, if you are running a direct drive whether auto or air cooled, you need one of these propellers!. I feel like it is worth every penny.

Another thing that I noticed is that my engine idles about 100 rpm faster now than it did with the Warp Drive. I would guess that is because the Q weighs less and has a more aerodynamic shape. The blades have a teardrop cross section and a teardrop shape has the least drag of any shape.

Sensenich really did their homework. I believe they have unlocked some thrust that was tied up in inefficiency of blade design

Red I am happy for you I love mine and I noticed all the things you have to they build a heck of a prop and they will stand behind it if you ever have an issue Did you get a two blad or three blade?

Glad your happy with your Q series. I was going to get a Q series but had a tough time getting info on them. Called a few places and didn't get a call back. So I purchased a 3 blade super snapper whirlwind this spring and am Happy with it. Compared to the 72/38 wood it has WAY MORE push and is also quieter. Now I need some advice on my next project boat. I have a 8 x 18 panther with a 454 stroker 2:1 gear box. Called panther and they say that they use both sensenich and warp drive and were actually sterring towards the 8 blade turbo warp. Just woundering if someone has a boat of this size and what prop you would put on it. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks swampdonkey

Sniper it is a 2 blade. When I go to the gear box, I am going to get a 3 blade S Series.

Basket, yes it is quite a bit quieter than the Warp. I can run without ear plugs, but I am still using them anyways, as prolonged exposure to any elevated level of sound will eventually cause hearing loss.

Red

You are not going to believe your boat when you get the gearbox tho go with that three blade the performance is unreal your going to love it

Oh I know, I rode on CNTRY's boat. Amazing!

But I am VERY happy with my boat now. It has exceeded my expectations thus far.
