Well kids, black mud is bad, even if it is flattened out from another boat going over it.
Took my dad for a ride today in Orange Lake. One of the trails that leads to River Styx had a section about 100 yards long that was dried up black mud.
We didn't make it.
After exhausting my PVC pipe supply (only had one piece :? ) forward motion was again at a halt.
We needed water. After making a couple trips to the water with a plastic grocery bag, I had enough of that. I started looking around, and spotted my orange waterproof toolbox. After dumping the contents in the bow compartment, I started filling it with water and splashing it under the boat. Then I gave myself a little trail of water to go over.
I grabbed the bow and told dad to stand on it. I guess he had trouble pushing the gas all the way down, but we were still able to get it moving even at about 2300 RPM. Once the boat got on the trail of water it moved pretty decent.
I WILL be adding an 11 quart bucket and some dish soap to the bow compartment......that is, after I replace the fuel pump on my truck that went out in Sonny's BBQ parking lot on the way home from the lake! What a day
