Hello, beyond the want adds here on the forum would anyone happen to know where I might start looking for a hull suitable to run ice?
I currently have a 14' Air Cat with a 180 Lycoming.
My hull is not in very good shape and I am faced with removing the polymer and structurally rebuilding it and I'd rather do so to a spare hull to avoid the downtime and maybe find one in better shape, or possibly one that can do even a better job of running on ice.
I'm attempting to target a hull the same as what I have because of the easy engine fit up and the hulls unique ability to turn in tight situations where it is breaking through thin ice.
I'm told most of the southern 90 degree chined hulls cannot turn well in this situation.
I have placed an add to see what happens but I suspect the hull is so old that they may have all gone to the happy hunting grounds.
I'd also appreciate some buying advise from those that have experience running on ice.
Thanks
