I would appreciate any info on this hull. If it is homemade or who made it or manufacturer? Thank you . Doug

Just judging by the polymer lay-out, and location of the overboard bilge pump outlet.....
I say Kline, but it ain't much to go on.

Could be anybody's hull.
That's my first guess though.

Thats the boat my kid had years back. They were made by quite a few folks. Bear, Kine and others. They are a natural ground runner even with small power.

Looks like ya got ya an airboat kit there. Been there n done that, yer in for a fun time :)

Thank you for info everyone. I am actually thinking of restoring and putting an AC motor on it . The hull is 12ft. Any motor suggestions? Would a four cylinder Lycoming run dry?

A good 180 LYC. on that hull will take you anywhere you
want to go. if you don't load the whole camp in it.

Anything O-360 :)

It will run great with any 4 cylinder on it, but why not stick a 360 on it and be done with it. My kids 10' hull just like that had a 90 HP GPU and he ran with the rest of us. I think his was a Taylor Hull. He didn't cruise as fast on open deep water but he went anywhere we went, dry or wet.

Scotty

Pretty much limited to aircraft on the pb boats. Dont want to much weight with the round sides. Those boats last forever though, and they look the best too. Best boats in my opinion.

met a fella in Vero at 512 with the exact lookin hull and had 220 power, went where
he wanted to go, when he wanted to go :D

Cowboy and I on my 12' PB style with a straight valve O-360 Lycoming. Great boat and goes anyplace a sane person would want to.

That is almost identical to the hull of a boat I am close to purchasing! Any idea on how old this style of boat may be guys? Are they still making them?
thanks
andy

The style is maybe 30+ years old. Now and then someone with a lot of heart will make one. They are the epitome of hand built hulls.

I dont know if that is good or bad? It has the same curl in the front of the bow but I think the one I am looking at has steeper sides, an open hull, and the transom is level across the back. That is all I can tell from a crappy cellphone pic. Good pics are supposed to be coming in anytime. I heard it has been wet down there lately?
Its been a snowin up here! Its a good excuse to crack a beer, watch tv, and look up some airboat tips.

There have been lots of copies and or variants over the years. The real WPB bulls had that 1958 Buick look to them though. Sweet boats and many many are still running just fine.

My boat is a variant and has the look. It will be finished soon as I can get enough dry days to dry it out and get her painted. Heres what she was when I first got her. Bear design built by Tim Foley. Not a true WPB boat it is a variant. Lots of pics in my gallery of some of the work over the last year on her. I'll show more when she gets a coat of paint.

wow, what are the measurements that? I think it would be a riot to put one of these together from scratch! I just need something to get me on the water and familiarize myself with them first. It probably isnt hard for these boats to take over your lifestyle is it.

Hog, I just wantin ta tease. As you see her every day, you know shes ready for paint. The build is done. Hahahahahaha

Walleye, my boat is 11' x 7' at the deck seam. Has an HIO-360 thats sorely underpropped. Hahahahahaha dont stand near it when shes under hard power.

AIRBOATING IS A LIFESTYLE !

Scotty

bowt,it appears to be a stossel, kline,or simpson, hull,i also think ray rottenberg built this same hull, and i know a few kit boats mr.stossel sold.so its really hard to tell, but mike stossel could probably tell by the picture, ill try and get in touch with him for you.
