Looks like a stossel to me exactly like the one I was trying to TPWD to sell to me. These boats are awesome to drive wet or dry, if you like a slider this is your boat.
I you decide to get rid of it pm me I've been looking for a fixer upper stossel for a while now.
THERES SUDDELL DIFFRENENCE'S TO THE PALMBEACH FULLDECKS TO TELL THEM APART... FOR ONE YOU CAN LOOK AT THE TRANSOM - STOSSEL'S WILL HAVE A LIP WHERE THE TRANSOM WAS SET IN FROM THE VERY BACK OF THE BOAT , SUCH AS THE ONE ON SCOTTYS BOAT IF YOU LOOK AT HIS PIC..... A KLINE TRANSOM IS MOUNTED FLUSH TO THE BACK WITH LIL OR NO LIP ..2. KLINE USES CHANNEL BULK HEADS INSIDE THE HULL AND 3RD. STOSSEL'S HAVE A RAISED ROUNDED TOP DECK , KLINES ARE A LIL FLATER ACCROSS THE FRONT....
Thank you guys . I can tell you this the hull has been sitting there for the last 9 years. I am hoping to get the hull in shape then go from there. I would love to have an old style boat like this.
Dusty, Mert's old boat which is now raizincanes used to belong to a guy named Don Grice. Here is a pic of mike stossel's current boat which he built mostly at Ed Froehlics shop in christmas.
This is a Grice hull also.
He built six of these hulls I think before he died, and this one is the second to last one.
Don Grice Built it for Robert Hosier Sr.
This one Bobby Simpson built for his personal ride in 1972
Here's The Black Pearl.
It's all 100% Kline. 13 foot
Here's a 13'er under construction by RDM20470
Its a very close copy of a Kline. It has a transom overhang such as Dusty described Stossell does on his, as RDM did his bottom transom frame out of t-bar.
Here's my little 10' 3/4 deck PB style built by Sean Capps. Had a O-320 and foot steer. It'd make your butt pucker in deep water but in the skinny stuff it was a blast. This little boat would run dry ALL DAY too. I still kick myself for selling it. I just might make it my mission to find it again. I hope there's something left. It would have been a great first boat for Little Cowboy.
