Input on Pleasure Craft Levitator MS70

Looking into repowering my boat with the Levitator MS70 and looking for some much needed feed back. I’m currently running the 496 levitator 8.1L and despite it’s weight, it’s been great !

Well if your prior engine made you happy and served your needs this one will be a bit of an upgrade in power.

If someone was after getting the most performance 20K can buy, there are better options.

That said if a moderate, reliable platform fills your need then roll with it.

Over the years the Levitator threads are either love or hate.

What gear are you running and have you gotten a price and availability ?

Not cheap by any means !! Crazy the prices out there. Trying to stay as stock as I can and with some warranties if possible of course. Seen some platforms for about $15k but just scare me a bit.
Thank you for the help. Haven’t made the 💯 decision yet. Still kicking it around 🤦‍♂️

I built a boat recently and powered it with a Smedding Performance build. Jacob is the GM and he was easy to work with.
Mine is a Dart Block with everything forged and Nitrous / airboat purpose built. They dyno and ship to the door.

I did old school with carb and single wire ignition. My buddy SwampThang did one with Holley EFI and ignition. It came tuned and runs amazing.

Plenty of YouTube on them out there. Search Smedding Performance for a few and Jacobs personal channel is “That Engine Guy”.

Call and talk with him. You should be clear you only need a 500hp and rpm desired because if you get to much power your gonna over run the prop and have ratio issues.

One of many options.

I’m scared to death of Century as SwampThing had a drive with a bearing issue wipe a 496 out.

I currently run the levitator 7.0 on a 24’ tour boat with century ch3 2.31 it does better than the old 8.1. Got 1600 hrs on the first one, I heard your supposed to pull them apart at 1000 hrs. If weight is not much issue go 632

Which levitator did you run ? Mine is at 3K hours still running strong every day. Had to replace throttle body once, throttle sensor once, and 2 fuel pumps. Took the rail out and had injectors cleaned for maintenance purposes once. Still have great oil pressure & compression. Hell ! Still has original alternator and water pump. Looking to possibly rebuild this and hope and pray the new model will perform and behave like this one has 🙏
