Intake

AirAg

Well-known member
Does anyone know what type of intake this is? Custom??

A little help posting the picture if Buck Thruster is fine with it.

This is a custom intake with a fuel injection throttle body. A nice looking setup. I was interested in the auto distributors as I am working on a similar setup for my dad and I.

No problem AirAg.

It looked like a custom throttle body fuel injection to me as well.

That was a sweet little 4 cylinder 150 GPU conversion.

I built my own distributor system for an A/C motor ten years ago and I learned the hard way only one part on an A/C turns ½ the engine RPM and that's the tac drive. I used a slant six dodge distributor on a 520 then ran an MSD ignition box my idle came up 350RPM because of how much stronger my spark was. It was very easy to build and the parts were cheap and they performed better then a mag. The ignition still works to this day.

If somebody came out with a battery ignition system for A/C engines at a reasonable price, I d be all over it.

I bet many others would as well.

What gaps were you running on that 520 Thunder?

Plumcrazy is going to get some ideas after seeing that picture. Looks like a custom oil sump too.

That picture is proof positive that you don't have to have a 1200 hp, diamond pleated whatever to have a very cool airboat.
Everything about that little rig is VERY sanitary ..... 8) 8) .

Reah Olf.
It's a real nice boat for sure.

I like 90 GPU's, and that one is kick'in.
Love to see one like that with a geardrive.

Yes, that is a cool setup. I am still considering it for mine, I just think I would gain much more power by converting to 520's, and dual mags. I have a Holley 350 carb instead of the fuel injection as this picture has. I will be doing all the work myself, so I am just wondering if I would be able to do it right. Being from Texas, the cost of shipping would kill me to ship this motor to someone.

Another question would be, before I spend the money and buy cylinders, I think I should tear the old motor apart and spec out the main bearings and crank.

Thats what I love about this sport, no one is the same!!!!

Thanks yall
