ok I have the Southern Venom Diamondback airboat and it came with Piratecom when I purchased the boat and now that they have been out of business for a while and the headsets are deteriorating I need to change my whole system and would like a good reliable system that I can run the radio/talk . Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance. I am also looking for a good satellite gps for my next update as well. I was thinking great detail and simplicity to use.. Thank you again...

Hello Gator tail,
I would recommend the S20EVO Sena intercom. You can look it up on Sena's website. I mount them to 3M 105 Peltor earmuffs and there is nothing installed on the boat. They will pair up to 8 headsets, have built in FM radio, and can pair up with a GPS that is Bluetooth enabled. You can check out my website also www.yourtalkingnow.com
Good luck with your search what ever direction you go.

Hands down the Bluetooth noise cancelling headsets designed for motorcycle helmets, installed in ear muffs is the way to go.

His Sennas are clearly the best. I have a couple cheaper ones I made from some I ordered from the rainforest for $40 ea. They are trikcky to pair with a third rider and the batteries suck. Keep them fully charged or the will never work again.

I have a buddy that bought a pair and just left them in the boat dead most of the time. They lasted a few months. Mine are well over a year old.

If I had it to do over, I would start with the Senna. Specifically for the ability to pair multiple headsets. That being said, whatever your buddies are running are the ones to get. Even my cheap ones have great clear sound and a range about as far as you can see.

Talking to the passenger=Ehh.
Answering the wife when she calls=necessary
Music=fun
Riding paired with another boat=More fun
Frogging while paired with another boat absolutely doubles the fun of frogging.

I had an aviation set before these that I thought I liked.... squelch is garbage!! Digital noise canceling and Bluetooth!!!

I'm only half deaf these days, which means I have trouble hearing in the woods but my ears ring like hell all day without gunshot protection. I have been testing out a set of Walkers Game Ears, but they don't quite meet all my needs. They are only of value once set on a stand, don't cover a whole day in the woods. It's too much crap to deal with at the moment (ear plugs for running, pull them & get game ears out on stand etc.).

I am looking for a system that covers everything in one set as follows:

- Active gunshot muffling
- Active prop muffling
- VHF (I need the range) radio to radio VOX or PTT
- Bluetooth interface for phone and on-boat coms.
- An ability to activate a high gain omni/directional microphone for dogs and game sounds on the stand, motor off but still active gunshot suppression.

It does not have to work while out of a seat, but that would be a bonus.

Slidin Gator,
I have never ran across any headsets that will cover everything that you are needing in one package.

That would be cool! But I don't think I want to run in that terrain without brakes!

Thanks for the response guys and obviously I wanted to hear from the experience of others before I just plunged into a 1 million dollar headset package. I will be looking into the Sienna for sure!!! Thank s again for the heads up..

Ban Bad is the man!!!! I have 4 of his headsets, love them.... they have been in the water a few times and still work... I’ve had them now for at least 5 years now.

Ben bad headsets are awesome.
Rick is great, love the headsets.
