I've been running alot of ground and rocks lately, after a trip yesterday I was checking the polymer and that got me to thinking about installing jacks. I don't have any experience with this so I thought I would ask. I run a 16' x 7.5' aluminum with a car motor/belt drive. I was thinking one before the fuel cell and one after. Will that be overkill? Will it be best to fabricate a gusset type mount with all thread to the middle t-bar or span the middle three? How much down adjustment can be safely put into the hull? I would like to do this myself. I have accees to a metal fab shop but was wondering what it should cost if done by others. I have seen a couple of rigs with jacks but have not paid much attention to them. By the time I got rid of my last hull it had a pretty good hump under the motor/fuel cell and this appears to be a good way to eliminate that problem.
