Jekyll Island GA

Big Casino

Well-known member
Supposed to be doing the family thing up on Jekyll Island in a few weeks.

How's the airboating anywhere close by???

Google Earth shows a bunch of marsh grass and tidal creeks .... Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

BC,,, You will have miles and miles of places to ride,,,

Put in at the Intercoastal Waterway Boat ramp, on Jekyll Island,,,

When you come down the Causeway, turn right just beyond the Guard shack,,, Continue on and follow the signs to the boat ramp,,, It will be on your right, going in,,,

DO NOT SPEED,,, Cops everywhere,,,

You can ride anywhere that a Kicker boat can ride,,, You just cant get on the GRASS,,, They frown on that,,,

Put in and go to the left to get to the Atlantic, if you want to ride in the Ocean,,,

I did it on a incoming tide, with the wind blowing,,, Kinda scared me, almost flipped the Boat trying to turn around in the waves,,, So I just faced wind, and let the tide take me back into the Intercoastal waterway,,,

Watch out for the waves from the big barges,,, I hit them dead straight, just barely on plane and it was still a hellofa jolt,,,

When you put in, you can go for miles up the IW and turn up into many many rivers and creeks,,,

Just keep in mind, they are all Tidal controlled,,,

You can keep your motor running and the Sceeters wont tote you off, while you wait on the tide to come back in, if you get stuck,,,

The big waters will not dry up, but some of the smaller ones will turn into a trickle,,, but if you get stuck, just wait a little, and the tide will change and you will have water once again,,,

It is probably best to run the first time at LOW TIDE, so you can see all of the Oyster beds,,,

I was searching for Flounder, at the wrong time of year, and in MUDDY water,,, lol But it is all MUDDY down there, because of the Shrimp Boats,,,

Carry you a long handled dip net, you can scoop up Shrimp by the buckets,,, Crabs too at night,,,

I hope you have a good time, and be safe,,, Tell someone where you are going,,, Upriver or Down,,,

Airboat Cowboy Mike has rode around Saint Simons Island and he knows it pretty good,,,

WEST MARINE is right there on Hwy 17, if you need anything for your boat,,,

Take a GPS,,, I have two,,, A GARMIN handheld, and a GARMIN Mounted,,, The breadcrumb trail is a life saver at night, in the Marsh,,,

Just remember to STAY OFF OF THE SAWGRASS,,, That will get you a HEFTY fine,,,

Be safe My Friend,,,

Yea I'm glad he warned you about the saw grass we got a bunch of tree huggers down there
and 99.99 percent of GA DNR are Jack Azzes and the love to mess with folks in Airboats and write tickets
most of them could not make it as cop so they became a Rabbit Sherriff and they have no respect for
any other forms of Law Enforcement either

Thanks Sniper,,, That is so true,,, And GSP (Gods Special People) have a division there on the causeway, and they will write you for 1 mile an hour over,,,

Especially on into the Island where it is 25 and 35 mph,,,

We shot the movie X-Men down there, and you would not believe the tickets that were written against those idiots from California,,, Of course, they probably deserved them,,,

I did not have a problem with any of them, cause I dont speed,,,

(unless I am in a hurry to launch my boat) lol

Or trying to get to PapaJacks trailer tires,,, :stirpot:

OK C'Rock!!! ... out with it . Come clean about this fetish you got with PapaJacks tires....

Cowboy Rock branded a bunch of his Georgia frogs. He thinks I sneeked into their state and rustled a mess. I swear, I did not see any brand on those frogs while pullin their britches off. I would gladly post pictures but the frogs would not sign release forms and many may have been underage resulting in naked pictures of minors on the internet. Rick and whitebear would have been dragged in on this and I know the next civil war might be fought between Georgia and Florida. NOT a pretty thought!!! So, he is out to stop me at the ramp next time I sneek over the border. We all know how effective border patrol works now, so all I can say is, "Hit me with your best shot!!!" Cowbay Rock...

Ok PPJ,,, It was all in fun, before,,, Now this means WAR,,,

Unless u agree to take me froggin' with ya' when I come thru on the way to Old Glory, to steal Geralds frogs,,, :stirpot:

Sharpening ICE PICK as we speak,,,

:drunken: :rebel: :old_glory:

Sorry, no frogs left in north Florida. FWC has closed our frog season early. Gerald is reporting low numbers left down south. Maybe some of your west coast connections can hook you up with a Nevada or Arizona froggin trip. Keep us posted on how that goes...

PPJ,,, U got up early to talk about the froggys,,, lol

I C how it is going to be now,,, You think U can Hornswaggle me out of some frogs,,,

But I got a plan,,, Always have a plan,,,

I will pay the Old Bag Lady to stick your tires, that way I am out in the open and cant be charged with anything,,,

Come on up to Seminole, she is just upriver,,,lol ^5
