i've been doing it since i was 14, and i wouldnt trade the experiences for the world! the best one i pulled was 12'7''. lotta meat on her :)

i've been going since i was 12 with my dad and the best one we've got so far is 10'5'' but this year i hoping for atleast an 11 or 12 footer

Being from La. I have seen and done some really nice ones. But I have seen several that I had no intention of tangling with. One was in Lake City Fl. a few years back, he was ( looked like ) as wide and long as the Jon boat I was in, when he went under it was like a refrigerator going down. Anyhow someone ended up killin him and just leaving him lay completely intact. A real shame, that ole boy had to be 75 years old. And I have seen some in La. that weren't midgits by no means. Later, Cajun

someone did that to a 10' on our lake- set a line for em' and either forgot about it or didnt want to fool with it. that was a lot of gator that went to waste

Being an old coonazzzzz or cajun or old man that still has the most of all 10 toes and fingers left, I musta learned early on what to tangle with and what not. When I was a kid ( longgggggggggg time ago ) we could swim under water and grab cooters,(turtles) ducks , or small gators from underneth and kick back to shore. Of coarse they would lock you up now if you did any of this. My favorite size gator now is bite size in the pan. The last one I did by myself was uninjured and about 8-8 1/2' long and almost whipped me. So I pretty much don't do them anymore, I just do stuff to make it easier for other folks. Gettin old ain't for sissies, thats for sure. Later

haha, i like the bite size ones too. i started off catching gators with a shark hook and beef lung, but now we catch them off the front of the boat in the marshes. good times.

-keeping in mind that there's usually a bottle of Mr. Beam involved for a little extra testicular fortitude, haha

I still to this day think the funniest thing that i've seen in a long time was my 120 pound buddy running into the cat tails after a 9', then hearing the water splash as he came running out of em just as fast as he went in with that gator right on his heels.

he went in feeling like :naka: and came running out looking like :love1:
