July Ride(Poker Run to Benefit Pete)

A poker Run draws people out to a ride ,its alot of fun.You buy hands for $20.00 as many as you want. There is usally 4 to 6 stops depending on what poker game you are playing. And you draw a card at every stop getting the last card at starting point, this way everyone stays together or gets back at the same time. Then normally the winner splits the pot.But this time we are getting donations from community biusnesses for the best hand ,so we can give all monies earned to Pete's family. And of course a gator fry for lunch.

Pete's son Glenn called me today to let me know that he has a couple people who are friends of the family coming up here for the ride. He also said that a couple of the Broward County club members said they were coming here as well. So I thought I would update all those who are bringing something to eat.

I know Gatorchaser has got some gator meat, Safari Rick is bringing some shrimp. As far as anything else I am not too sure about so please post if you are bringing something and what you are bringing. Looks like we are going to have a good crowd here.

I have hundreds of pounds of Gator meat. I will donate as much that is needed for the ride. I will also supply the breading. Bigdaddy hooked me up and it's the best breading. If I can't make it I will get it to Skeeter or someone heading that way. Try to get a head count so I'll know how much is needed.

All right all. We need a head count. I know here we have 2 people and 2 boats each with one person.

Also Glenn has 2 boats coming with one person each.

Thank you Gator. Give me a call if you cannot make it and maybe I can meet you if need be. My cell phone is 863-3149.

Ride today went good.We had total of about 30 boats. We raised $630.00 for Pete's family. We didn't have any mishaps, other than a pack of 17 boats going down the wrong trail and getting stuck in some trees. But no fear, Thunder was close and with the help of Chris got us all back together.Chris and Dakota were great guides. We went to Sarno,Willow House across Hell and Blazes to Bull Dozer for lunch and then up to Bird Platt and then back for last card. Thanks guys. And special thanks to Brevard County Airboat Club for the use of their club facilities. What a nice place. One more thanks to Seminole County Airboat Club for showing your support to a good cause with 18 boats in attendance.Plus it was a good monthly ride.

Thanks to all the Seminole County Airboat Club. It was great to meet you all and I am sure I will see you again.
Thanks to all the people who were able to donate something to the cause.
Thanks so much Skeeter for all of your help today. I would not have known what to do today without your help. Thanks for the ride as well. I enjoyed the ride on your boat. I hope all of you had fun and you all are welcome here.
I think in total we raised close to $2500. Again thanks to all involved.

Oops had to come back on here and say thanks to Safari Rick and Waterthunder for kicking in the rear and making sure everyone got out ok.

I had a blast this ride. You got to admit it was funny when I took the south trail to check up on some people and found 15 or so boats in the marsh because somebody took a wrong turn! To me getting a few stuck boats out is what makes a successful day of air boating. Even though my back was sore this mourning! After the ride was over me and Rick, what a character went for a ride north to Winder but had to seek shelter at Oak Head from the storm. We met up with a few other boaters up there and consumed some frosty beverages and watched it rain. After the rain stopped we went to wolf creek and then headed in. However Rick ran out of gas right in the middle of lake Washington of coarse as always with in ten minutes we had several airboaters stop to help us. I took the fuel line of my carb and filled a Gatorade bottle up 20 or so times and put it in Ricks boat and followed him to the ramp. So let's see a few people got stuck, a few people got lost and someone ran out of gas and I consumed an enormous amount of beverages oh ya we got rained on, what an awesome time where's the next ride?

Hey everybody, THANKS for a great day-I was glad to be a part of a bunch of good people getting together for a good cause. It was nice to see a new area, riding on the river and lakes is much different than the Glades. There were alot of nice people with very impressive boats from the Seminole Airboat Club, some of those boys do it right.
