Just a little more

Me wanting to get the best performance out of the type of engine and hull I have, probably like everyone else. After years of knowing that the 3 blade IVO wasn't getting it. After asking question and getting different options. I finally decide on getting a 3 blade Sensenich. I installed it and ran it up a couple of time and made some adjustments. I decided to take it out and make the others on the water. Well after getting started I could not get over 1500 RPM at times and some times I would get 2400?? Anyway after messing with the prop all day the RPM was still the same. I thought maybe toooo much pitch not enough??? I than thought it might be a carburetor trouble since my boat has set up almost a year. I only had it out 3 times( something wrong with this picture) anyway I took it to Jurnigans, he has gone thought the carburetor and thought it might have a cylinder with low compression. One was a little low and he found out one of my rings wasn't seated.$$$ Now this boat ran great with the IVO it just didn't have the speed and push I knew this rig should have. Back to the story Now Jr thinks with this prop its the harmonics that is causing the engine to run this way. He is putting the counter weights back on the crank. $$$$$$
Got the boat back now all I have to do is finish setting the prop.

You might want to re -THING making your boat get the little extra you are looking for.

I think it's like Bigdaddy says Any times it runs brake out another thousand!!!

Thanx Phil,

For the ivo info. It don't take much to get harmonics out of whack. We had thought abt this type of thing in cowboy's thread under the crank yank theme.

We had just this kind of problem with a Cessna Cardinal RG couple years back & hunted everywhere in the engine for the culprit. I finally decided one morning todo a close up of the prop & sure nuff a tiny rock strike took just enough at the prop tip to cause all this as you say $$$. :(

BTW, After fumbling with the engine for abt 20hrs the prop tech settled the whole prob in less than 20mins.
We also had a resonance prob with a 4 blade tail rotor on a helicopter. After much ado's $$$agn on the main rotor we finally found one of the tail rotor blades just slightly out of pitch.
If one is talking 2 blade they will let you know immediately but with 3 or more blades they are a little more difficult to detect.
Thats all.

Phil,

Hope to see you and that boat at Kissimmee this Saturday for the Lake Cleanup. I will be there for the last ride of my teal and purple Gilileo.

I have a strong suspition that you may have a fuel blockage after that boat has set up so long. Did exactly the same on mine. It was a blockage in the check valve of the fuel tank hose barb. Finally doug the junk out and it purred like a kitten. Till I broke a weld on the cage and trimmed an inch off each of the two blades on my new Terninator.

Sorry I can't make it Saturday, I've been involved in a project for the last 11/2 years need six more months to finish. This has used up all of the free time I usually have. After that I WILL get involved in doing god stuff.
By the way I forgot to thank you for the info about the CAPT license. I'll pursue this also at that time.
