hey everyone i have recently moved from brabenton to the wonderful palm beach co whrer the traffic is wonderful and so are the snowbirds  any way i left my boat in bradenton because i was not sure that i would have any where to keep securley or even ride. can anyone tell me where to ride if i hade my boat here and mabey show me around a new area. i usually ride kiss. or peace river so this is all new to me. i am staying in boca raton, also wheres the nearest fab shop or just some guys hanging out talking airboats and andputting back a few sudds.... i miss the bubbies bak in bredanton already

If you are staying in boca your'e not far from everglades area 2. Go south on 441 to lox rd. Hang a right and follow to the end . The airboat landing is on the left. There are quite a few on this site who run that area.

lfriz.....

WCA-2A is just down the road from you. As Geneva said, take 441 south to Loxahatchee Road, then go west till the road ends. Keep goin' straight to the top of the levee, then make a left before you enter the "Day Use Only" area. We launch the airboats at the end of that dirt road.

WCA-2A offers pretty good ridin' 9 months out of the year. The water drops in March, and doesn't usually come up again until May, depending upon when the rainy season starts. You can still ride during those months, but you're pretty much restricted to the tour trail (Lyles trail) and the north canal.

Those other 9 months of the year there's hundreds of trails to follow.....you can pretty much go 15 miles due west on the east/west trail, and another 10 miles south till you hit the southern canal and Sawgrass Rec Area. There's at least 20 camps in the area to stop at and let the motor cool down.

A lot of people don't like ridin' in the area because some of the trails are windy and skinny, and there's a lot of places where two boats going opposite directions won't make it, so someone's going to eat the trees or the tall grass. I solve this problem by doin' most of my ridin' at night, hopin' that a boat will give itself away by the headlights/head gear. I've been ridin' this area now for nearly 7 years, and really haven't had any problems. For every skinny trail, there's three or four nice wide trails (hell, there's even some "4 lane" trails.......).

It's definitely worth checkin' out while you're local, especially if you have a boat that you're thinking about bringin' down. I'm sure ridin the 'Glades is a lot different from ridin' up north, but I think you'll like it.

And another 25 miles down the road, you've got WCA-3A North and South, which is a whole 'nother story.........

doc my guess that its probabaly prety dry now right? my boat will run dry(13ft glass 300 angle valve f/i) but is it worth bringing my boat down? i gotta ride

crazy the pic i wanted to put on there of my boat was to big so i figured that one would work

I recognize those fingernails.. She is on the how to worm up before playing golf video I have.... But I can not put it on here.....

I was out last Wednesday, and the water level was still pretty good. I monitor the following website link to watch the levels:

http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/h2o/reports/r-wca2.html

When the level at 2-17 gets below 11.5 you've got to start being careful....when it gets down to 11.00, it's startin' to get dry. Below 11.00, get out the four-wheelers.

I'd say you've got another two weeks of good ridin'. In fact, it's probably a lot funner now than when it's wet, as airboats do some really cool things when the water levels just right (skids, spins, etc.....).

Let me know if you're into a ride.......I'm not doin' too much right now, and may be able to fit it into my schedule.

doc i might take you up on that ride i have wkends off and am open to ride anytime ill get the gas and some drinks just let me know
