Lake Blue Cypress

Can anyone give me some advice about where to put in and where to ride and any dangers I may encounter at Lake Blue Cypress in Indian River County. I had a professional photographer ask me to take him out for the day so that he could shoot some photos of wildlife and scenery.

I have never seen the Lake, much less ridden it. So ANY help at all would be more info than I have now.

Thank you all ahead of time.

Comprises 6,555 acres bordered by marsh and cypress swamp. With a pictorial setting, this lake offers good fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, shellcracker, warmouth, spotted sunfish, black crappie, and catfish. Sunshine bass have been stocked in Lake Blue Cypress since 1976. The only access point is Blue Cypress Fish Camp, Blue Cypress Grade, four miles off SR 60, approximately 12 miles east of Yeehaw Junction from the Florida Turnpike or 25 miles west of Vero Beach.

I just copied this from another site. If memory recalls I got close to it by riding west from the Ansin-Garcia Reservoir (Blue Cypress Water Management Area).

it is a county landing and it reads no airboat lanching but if your courteous and talk to joe middleton or his wife jeanny they are fine folks and you should have no problem putting in they are not airboat haters it is some rule the county put out there years ago we don/t put in there often but we don/t have any problems lots of cypress knees be careful of them but they are your only worry just stay offshore a littlt bit and you won/t have any problems. call them up 772-778-0150 and i am sure they will welcome you.

Blue cypress management area covers a few areas , you have the lake witch form vero you have to come out 60 across the river then a few miles up turn to the right, there is garica witch is the ramp off 512 there are also some dirt ramps on the skinny side but water is really low you need to be able to run dry if your a big boat with a load, then off fellsmere grade there is eh stick marsh and there is another marsh outside goodwin witch I think is part of three forks instead of blue cypress . I am not much help as far as the lake it self but if you have any question about garcia or the stick marsh areas I'll PM you my number and try to answer your questions
