Saturday morning started out slow ,had to reinstall the lower altenator bolt on the old cadi .On the way to the lake we stopped and ate at O'brians in volusia ,Thats east across the St.Johns river from Astor.Loaded up with my weekly ration of fuel at the local Quick stop and loaded up my ration of buds at the famliy market and we were off to boat ramp.
We found RoHo waiting for us at the ramp and after bsin for a while we went down to the mouth of Juniper and laid out a couple of Jugs at 400'.Ro Ho made a couple of passes ,and after a cool one we were off to the bridge to get in the cool waters.
Italian saugage , marinated Pork chops and Garlic bread made the meal for the day .Along about 3:30 three boats One car motor ,one four cylinder ,and what appeared to be an 0540 showed up at the bridge.after BS with the fellers for a while it was decided that they would go give the Jugs a try .
At the lake RoHo lined up with with a Bottle feed 4 cylinder on a small Gilleo hull.At the last jug the little boat was ahead by a boat lenght later the operatortor was ask if he had hit the button and he replied that he didn't need to which was fair enough.
Next up was the car motor boat ,a real sporty orange 13' hull with a 396 small block that looked ready to run.RoHo had him out of the hole from the get go
next up was the lycoming powered gileo .It was real tight but RoHo prevailed.
After 2 more runs the ac powered gileo Got the jump on the Orange 15' rivermaster of RoHo.I believe the out come would have been a differ ant if the the fellars had been sprayin their machines like they could have cept RoHo He aint got no N20.Now from were I stand this was friends enjoying an afternoon of fellowship and excitement also the spectators that were there enjoyed it as much as the particapants.
