Any one that was there should have had a good time. if there were 10 airboats there were Two Hundred, Hot but real fun :)

N....* Nationals

A reported 106 boats on the sandbar counted, and one fella from Naples (with a bad to the bone boat) raced one time, and more than turned heads... he reportedly "flew" on the water's surface... would love to have been there!

Down in Okeechobee the last gator seminar of the season was well attended. Met a couple of folks from Southern Airboat, Mudfish, and a "guest" who visits the site regularly who intends to join.....the Lake was warm and windy.

had a great time sat. caught fish in the morning and cooked frog legs on the sand bar in the sun great time!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WAS REMINDED BY THE GAME WARDEN THAT BY OCTOBER 1ST YOU MUST HAVE A FLAG 10X12 ON YOUR BOAT 10FT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT

Most boats That I have ever seen on the sand bar at tha mouth of juniper. the smell of bbq mixed with the aroma of high octane was unforgetable. Final count as reported to me was 168 boats.I stood the heat as long as I could then cheryl and I retreated to the cool waters at the bridge.

Let's see how many answers I get to this question. WHO WAS THE FASTEST BOAT also in the future you probably shouldn't post things like this on here.

No way of tellin there thunder ,Probley one of the wild life officers in there responce.

we left the bar around 1:00 Way before our freinds from the fwc made there modest appearance .

Thunder the one time that groundrattlerII ran i don't think any body had anything for him ,very quick just what i saw :?

So who was the fastest of the boats that raced. We all know Lou is the fastest boat period so who was the next fastest.

The cops I heard gave out minor tickets for no mufflers, no hull numbers, and other type things and treminded folks Flags are coming. I sat and talked with the LT. for fwc in that area, and they were over on the river catching regular boats that were speeding, they were using radar guns. They knew the races were going on heck everyone knew something was going on. They could have made a more concentrated effort to enforce minor things if they would have wanted to but I didn't see them trying to harass anyone. I will say watching the races is in stans words about like watching paint dry. Fwc has come out and said in the newspaper articles links posted on here that racing is not illegal however if you put that many boats in one spot it makes easy picking for the other violations. The FWC from what I saw made no effort to disrupt the event. The spectator area was clear of the track by a safe margin and folks kept an eye out for boats entering the shutdown area and once the start was waved off due to interference in that area. But quite honestly the racing was boring to watch but watching the spectators now that was interesting for sure, lots of fun.

Oh yeah someone said bobby was there with a a/c motor boat and he run gr 2 but sucked a intake gasket out and got beat bad but I didn't see that run we had already overheated and headed up to cooler water.

lake george is ideal race bottom, very shallow water, hard sand, and a good spot for spectators to park. I had often wondered why more were not held there. the FWC was tolerant of the event and supposedly spoke to the guy who organized it and only pointed out that in the event of injury or death he could be possibly held responsible in a law suit. There are ways around that of course and i didn't see any real organizing just crank it up and pull out and circle till someone came out to race ya.

Now If anyone was contemplating driving under the influence on the lake that day well that probably would have been a big mistake and most of the race boats had mufflers on them at least what looked like mufflers anyways. So ya'll come on up to wonderful clear fast and cool lake george and git it on. they even run some 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1 mile races for top sustained speed braggin rights. Those really come closer to real world applications for speed and stability of a boat. Who knows maybe we can set up a road course through the stumps and old refrigerators and crab traps with a jump or two over a sandbar now that would be more fun to watch than paint drying. LOL
