We ride out of Okee Tantie quite a bit.

Run down to dyess ditch, or the monkey box area. Thats about as far south as I've been.
Just wondering about any good running out of Belle Glade, or South Bay
 
I am sure there is some good riding down there. I have never been to the south east side of the lake
 
the hay fields south of monkey box are a blast gotta find that island with the camp they call the tree house 45 min south of moore haven canal is what i'm hearing. the inner rim canal from twin palms to the pump station
used to be beautiful but its all burned up but still a good run with lots of gators birds ect. be careful south of twin palms thats the willows you get in there and can't get out. believe me i know. them willows run for bout 20 miles used to be a cut but its growed over.
 
When the water is up, Fisheating Creek is a nice ride with plenty of oak trees to stop under. Also lots of game to see and good fishing. You need a free Airboat permit from GFC. It is not much fun when the water is down as you are forced to ride in the very narrow and winding creek. There are several trails in the hay fields around Curry Island which you can access across from the Fisheating Creek boat ramp(SR78 south of Lakeport). The island with the camp on it is Observation Island. Very hard to find the camp if you're not familiar with the area. The Lakeport Airboat Association rides most every Sunday around noon from Dyess Ditch or Harney Pond boat ramps in Lakeport. Hope this helps. If anyone is interested in specifics on these areas let me know and I will provide a more detailed description.
 
the best place to put in around Belle Glade is Slims fish camp. there is pretty good riding around the treehouse on torrey island or kramer island. most of it is deep water but its a pretty good ride alot of trails through the cattails and also on the island just watch for the muck it can get really sticky. there is usally a few boats out on the weekends and they could show you around.

Sounds like we gotta move fast to ride there! Local new reported last week on the sale of thousands of waterfront acerage to a developer on the South end by Clewiston.

I think I'll be joining the L.O.A.A. soon as there will probably be yet a battle there in the future between the antis and the airboaters!

There are several areas slated for development around Clewiston but none of them will interfere with the airboating. It's hard to be waterfront when you have the Herbert Hoover dike between the lake and civilization. Both areas to be developed are quite a distance from the lake and will most likely hear more highway noise of off Hwy 27 than the lake.
 
We usually put in at Sportsman's Village. Very accomodating for dry loading. You can easily visit the areas posted on this thread from there.

Sportsman's Village...walked the airboat trail between the channel
and Fisheating creek two weeks ago...dry as a bone. The trail between
the pump station and Indian Prairie canal was dry also.

Sportsman's Village, I remember that place from when I was a kid...
the buildings have been gone a long time. Most people do not know
where it's at or even heard of it.
