Interesting.
He wants to make $$$$ to put into his pocket on the gators via Yankee tourists. The public (sportsmen) wants to put $$$ back into the environment (lic fees) via hunting and public access to the resource.
I have hunted Trafford since 1993 & harvested many very large gators from there, with one 12-9 entering the SCI record book at #7 in 1999.
There are many large gators (10'+) that hang around the mouth of his canal at the public park/boat landing/pier where folks come to sit, fish & enjoy the view. Many of these folks bring their pets & children. I wonder if the gators hang in the area because they are being fed?
As for gators close to the park & pier, my clients have put many of these potential "threats" into the boat via harpoon. Nothing sweeter than firing the boat to go 100' then sticking an 11' lizard.
Saving fuel helps prevent terrorism!
Happy hunting,
