Well the LCAC BBQ for 2007 goes down in history and will be yet another good memory ,sorta of. After a long friday night of frogin I finaly got to slide between the covers about 2:00 Am and was up by 7:00 anxtious to get to breakfast and the ramp.RoHo had seen fit to loan me one of his ride boats and cheryl and I were ready to try it out .Upon leaving the creek and entering the river channel I eased into the throttle while cherly reached over to me and started hanging on to my shirt I reckon she wasn,t used to the quick acelaration to plane wich Roho,s boats are known for.We met up with cntry ,Roho and around a 100 other boats at cabbage point. We ate dranked and had fellowship seemed like every one was having a great time at around 2 pm the cool waters of the run was calling me so I departed the party.Rains came in at four and finaly slacked up were we could leave around 7:00 .
coming out the run I rounded a corner and there by its lonesome was the bryant boat with the thunder motor sitin .I heard later that river rat returned later to fetch and tow the boat in didn't here what went wrong. Stoped at goerge's Island were Hunter had a fire burnin and some much needed groceries as Cheryl,Roho and I were cold and starvin. Hunter informed us of a boat that had floped over and sunk ,and of a few that got towed in .went to the ramp were we were met by cntry, seems he was headin to dinner and got worried about us ,being gone so long and such.
sunday morning Hogskinner arrive at the house at 7:30 to change gear boxes seems the seal blowed out of his 2.38 stinger saturday while toting stuff to the BBQ.WE were goin to take it off and cntry was goin to drop it off at stinger and he did however since we had a 2.09 on the Jimmy white boat we said whate the heck lets put it on and see what i'll do and we did.the results are as follows.
2.38 with 3 blade master blaster 2.3 set at 25 , turned 4700 rpm 1200#s
put on 2.09 with same prop set at 20, turned 4800 rpm 1200#s
reset prop at 23 turned 4300 rpm 1200#s
and leftit there for hogskinner to try.
Cntry stated that the reason that the thrust was the same through out the test session was that was all the air the prop could suck through the cage. when you think about it ,it does make sense theres got to be as much air going into the prop as there is going out I realy didn't have the energy to pull the cage to see ,maybe anther day .So much for the deep reduction theory.

Stan,

Good report! Way 2 much goin'on for us, hopefully we'll make it next year.

We got wet Saturday too, but the "airboat fix' was worth it!

A summary of the thrust testing?

Lower ratio box+same prop+more pitch=same foot pounds of thrust as...

Higher ratio box+same prop+less pitch.

Yes it was a GREAT day for LCAC! Our biggest event with 85 boats at least at one count and over 230 people. Our Annual Appreciation Bar B Que also turned into a bit of a Membership Drive. It was a great family day, lots of kids and grandkids, got to say hi and chat with lots of members that live out of town and can only attend minimal events and definitely met new friends.

We signed up 21 new members and 2 members renewed! We sold 20 guest plates and over $600 in LCAC apparel! The weather held off and the food was plentiful. Many thanks to members who cooked the meats and to all who brought a dish to share. We had plenty of food and Hunter was able to take the leftovers up to Juniper on Sunday to share and finish it all up!

Everyone left full and happy and we are looking forward to our outing at Camp Mack August 17th weekend.

Thanks to everyone in the club for making the day successful!

You can add my GOOD JOB/GREAT DAY/THANKS FOR THE INVITE to what's already been said. Dustin took a ton of pictures that you'll see in the next edition of Marsh Rider and my sister got her first experience on an airboat!

It was just another day in airboat paradise.
