Let's talk gages for a minute

I have always run Autometer gages in my powerstrokes, but I am new to the airboating. Has anyone run the Summit white face gages? Who makes them for Summit? Has anyone run Equus gages? Please post your opinions on these gages or others you would or would not buy. oil pressure electric sender, water temp. charging, etc.

i've only run autometer in everything ive owned-no need to experiment with lesser products since they are quite affordable......there are some better gauges out there though...but not the ones you mentioned, you just cant find them at every hot rod shop.....Livorsi, Faria also Autometer has a marine line.....maybe Bravo(tim) can chime in with better knowledge, he's the marine pro ( big boats).....maybe he knows which are better or just a POS.

I ran the Summit guages in my last boat with no issues. I can tell you I have Faria ones in my new boat and I Like them better. The Summits were not marine guages. If it was me I would stick with marine guages. They're gonna last longer. etc. Not much price difference if you shop around. JMO.

I looked at the Summit gauges and I couldn't tell who made them for Summit. The Jegs ones on the other hand look just like Auto Mater. IMO The Auto Meters are just fine in a boat. I put the Phantom series in my cousins boat 7 years ago. He guns in saltwater 98% of the time and the gauges have held up great with the exception of a little bit of fading. The red pointer is just not as red as it used to be. However they are not water proof. I have seen his with a puddle of water laying inside the gauge but even with the water in them they have never missed a beat. :D

I have the Auto Meter knock offs they sell at Autozone in my boat and I personally think they are just fine.

On another note My wife has Faria's in her boat and I need a 2" clock to match what she has in there now. Anyone on here sell Faria gauges? I seen them on ebay but I would rather give my money to a member here.

I would call Jay at Lauderdale Speedometer. He is a fellow airboater and Knowes his gauges. He has everything you would want. I will post his number later or you can find his add in Airboating magazine.
I have personally used him for years and you can believe what he has to say.
