One thing I have not seen on the subject of noise. As far as noise, the lighter the hull and rigging the less power and therefore noise the whole rig makes.
I rode all over Orange and Lochloosa yesterday at about half throttle with my O-470 on a 15 foot light weight Rivermaster. It will run about 35 at half throttle according to my GPS.
This hull will not take the beating my old Kennedy would take, but "a" ride is better than no ride.
One other thing. Make real sure all your registration, life jackets, and other equipment is up to date. If the sheriff stops you up here they are going to check everything. That includes a marine fire extinguisher. The white extinguisher is the only one legal for marine use. Also the hull ID, make sure you have it engraved on the transom and also hidden under the deck cover.
