Limbach 2000

I have a 11’6”X6’6” air gator that I’m thinking of keeping light and I was looking at these 80hp Limbach engines, would those work as they weigh around 140 lbs or would that be under powering the boat

I think that doubling the weight with a 4 cylinder Lycoming and getting double the horse power would make you a lot happier on a 11 1/2 foot boat. A Pe 60 GPU would give you 90 HP.
Where do you get parts for the Limbach?

As far as I know you have to source them directly through Limbach, I’m just playing hell trying to find a lycoming that someone doesn’t want an arm and a leg for

Never heard of Limbach Flugmotoren until now, but the offerings on the website look like a typical 4 cylinder boxer aviation engine. I see versions up to 125 kW (167 hp) at 86 kg (190 lbs), which is competitive with a Lycoming O-320.

Limbach seems to have some interesting offerings, particularly for non-certified aviation, but I can't imagine new Limbach is cheaper than used Lycoming.

A 4-cylinder Lycoming 160 Hp - O-320 would be perfect for that rig and should be easy to find for $3-5K in good running condition. If the farfignewton's can beat that goard head.

P.S., avoid the H2AD version of the O-320, search on this site for input on specific models.

Not sure your budget but I took the time to look into Linbach and they offer up a engine that puts out 160hp. Quite a interesting product. That would get it done !
