Lloydminster Meridian Booster � Lloyd Rescue’s new airboat is worth its weight in gold, says one squad volunteer.
The rescue squad took the airboat on its maiden voyage down the South Saskatchewan River in search of 18-year-old Preston Waldner, the teen believed to have drowned while attempting to cross the river July 23 at Paradise Beach, south of Saskatoon.
Heeding the call for help, Norm Namur, along with fellow rescue squad member Gord Hart, began searching the river July 25, looking for any sign of Waldner. Namur said the search is still ongoing, and Lloyd Rescue will be back assisting next week.
