When Jim Osborne got a call that airboats were needed to rescue hundreds of people stranded on rooftops in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, he told his girlfriend that a planned romantic getaway in Miami Beach would have to wait.
Within hours, the 47-year-old Port St. Lucie letter carrier hitched up his two boats, filled dozens of gas cans, packed food and supplies for himself, his son and two others and joined a small armada of airboaters from Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast en route to.....
