Local business owner heads to New Orleans

Hurricane Katrina showed us the power and fury of Mother Nature, but she has also shown us the generosity and caring of one person for another.

Stan Floyd, owner of American Airboat Corp. in Orange, is one of those people. He left for New Orleans late last week.

"We're meeting up with some people from the Salvation Army when we get there," Floyd said. "I was told there is one building that no one has been able to get to that has nearly 300 people trapped in it." . . .

I sure hope there would be some way for the FAA to compile all the news articles and video from tv shown lately documenting rescue efforts to the Lobbist for "ammo" against the "anti"!

Prayers and thoughts go to Mr. Floyd for his courage and good natured decision making in this time of need.

I know that the tally is not current...at the KRVSA meeting the other night, members pledged quite a large sum as individuals beyond the $2000 already pledged by the club. I'm not sure the amount so I won't try and say how much but we are definitely closer!!!!
