Looking for first airboat. HELP!!!

Looking for my first airboat. I do have some stick time on some of my friends boats, but now I want my own. Hoping to gain some input on the type of boat I should be looking for for what I want to do. Mainly I will be using the boat for leisure riding and during duck season. I'd like to have enough power to run dry but also keep my budget to $10,000.00. Hope you can help and I appreciate your time and knowledge.

Do your friends rides do what you want?? Maybe you could base your decision off comparing theirs.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a dependable, good ride for $10,000.

You should be able to find a decent used airboat with a 180 or 200 Lycoming 4 cylinder on it for that price. They're much easier on fuel cost than a 6 cylinder and if set up right will go anywhere you want with 2 or 3 people and gear. I have a 6 cylinder on mine only because I prefer a bigger boat. But before you buy anything, have someone do a compression check on the motor. Could save you alot of money. Good luck.

160 lycoming 12 hours on boat since engine was rebuilt by Junior J. new wide blade prop, front seat driver 12 foot cotton mouth excellent condition. Camo seat covers, slick bottom will run dry. Trailer needs little work but is ok for now.
