Looking for Non-ethanol pump gas with octane higher than 89 in northeast Orlando area

So. I did a search and didn't see what I was looking for.

I'm in Northeast Orlando area and am trying to find non-ethanol pump gas with an octane rating higher than 89.

I've tried Pure-gas.org but they don't have any local suggestions.

I've called the local airports, but they don't sell to non-aviation.

I've considered octane boosters.

There is a Sunoco on East Colonial that sells Race fuel but their pump is unreliable and currently not functioning.

I'm open to suggestions but would prefer straight pump gas.

Hep' me Obi Wan Kanobies u is my only hope.

I can’t ever recall seeing REC fuel higher than 89 at the pump anywhere. I don’t know Orlando very well but have you thought about Orlando speed world? I know they aren’t open everyday and I’m not sure what they have at the pumps there but I’m sure they are open enough you could figure it out. If they didn’t have anything of interest at the pumps there (probably only a couple options) what about a local race shop ?? Most sell Sunoco fuel. The down side most are in the 5 gal pails and I’m sure not very cheap. I know Sunoco has an Optima 95 that’s ethanol free and a super clean fuel. 95 octane and if stored correctly supposedly stores for 3 years. I don’t believe all race fuels are ethanol free either. I know the E85 flex fuel is loaded with ethanol but burns hotter and normally produces more power but also less MPG. It’s a common race fuel per say in Aussie because of those qualities. I’m not loaded with alot knowledge like alot on here but just thinking out loud here and throwing iders out there. I’m sure one of the greats will be along at some point and have some better iders

AV gas 100LL is what you are looking for, not sure why.

Apopka, Sanford and New Smyrna are places I’ve bought before in that area.

First be very suspicious of any REC fuel posted at above 89

Second your best fuel supplement is NOT OCTANE BOOSTER most of those products don’t do much.

What is your Octane need ?

I run 11:1 and blend for 96 or 97 using Sunoco Standard 110 Octane race fuel.

We keep it on hand and add it to get a safe blend. Sunoco Standard is available at pumps in some locations and is listed on the Sunoco web site.

Sunoco Standard is a leaded non-ethanol fuel and was purpose designed to blend or use at full strength based on need. It is Purple in color fyi.

If a race fuel says it’s “OXYGENATED” then it typically will have ethanol in its blend.

Sunoco “STANDARD” is a 110 Octane leaded race fuel that does NOT have any alcohol in its formula. It is found typically at Speed Shops in 5 gal pails or dispenses via pumps. Most circle tracks sell it as well.
I buy it locally from the pump at a private fuel vendor in Crystal River.

For like $10-$15 a gallon!

Years ago I had a buddy that worked at "the" airport fueling planes. Every week or so he would bring over a couple gallons of AV Gas, back before 100LL, just 100. 2 gallons with a tank of pre-ethanol premium and a couple smidges of timing advance would sure wake up the old Buick!

Last year I was in Switzerland and got excited about the concept of 100 Octane fuel on tap, some calculator work gave me $8.50 a gallon.

It turns out it's not all that simple, the Europe 100 is roughly US 95 . As usual, the US uses a different measurement standard than the rest of the world.

In summary, most of the world uses the R (RON) or "Research Octane Number" which best measures idle knock performance. There is another measurement standard referred to as M (MON) or "Motor Octane Number" which best measures WOT knock performance. The US standard is "(R+M)/2" which averages these two values.

This is the best article I have read on the subject.

$4 premium with Ethanol don't sound so bad. Ethanol is a low cost Octane booster and way better for all us folks vs. lead, the engine just has to be setup for it.

Set the system up with a good water separator/filter to solve most issues. If the boat is stored for more than a month rig up a means to run some ethanol free through the fuel system and carb before storage.

Yep glad to find that 110 my friend

I blend the 93 with the 110 and don’t mind. Little ethanol.

My experience with Ethanol is it really becomes a huge problem when you pre-mix 2 cycle in a fixed tank.

Pump gas with a water separator works for me blended with that Sunoco 110

Im not sure what stations they supply or who all carries their fuel but Glover oil here in Melbourne carries non-ethanol 93 octane, it May be worth calling them if your dead set on using non ethanol 93. I use this in all my toys since they sit more than I would like and have had pretty good luck with it so far.
