Lost Hunter in the Green Swamp - Volunteers NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to help in the search for a lost/missing elderly hunter in the Green Swamp near Tampa/Lakeland.

It has recently come to my attention that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Polk County Sheriff's Office have all but exhausted their resources and are welcoming VOLUNTEER search personnel.
In that regard, I am attempting to organize volunteers to assist in the search.

If you are available to assist in the search, please contact me ASAP via phone at: 863-398-0229 or email at: H2oAirRsQ@aol.com

Due to the terrain of the Green Swamp, able body persons and/or those who can provide support services only should participate.
This search mission will be NO picnic!

Hey WaterLizard do you happen to know the name of the man that's lost out there? I know an elderly man that hunts there quite often, I'm just hoping it isn't him. My friend's name is Ray Barclay. I would help, but I live over here in Cocoa, and I have school tomorrow (I'm seventeen). Hope ya'll find the man in good health, my prayers will be with ya'll and that man tonight.

No, the lost hunter is NOT Mr. Barclay.
The man that is missing is Charles Huff, 76, of Tampa.

More join search for hunter

Authorities from six area law-enforcement agencies and volunteers continued to search the Green Swamp in Sumter County on Tuesday for a missing hunter.

Charles Huff, 76, of Lakeland never returned from a hunting trip the day before Thanksgiving in the thick forest. His truck was found along a dirt road in the middle of the massive swamp, which spans portions of Lake, Polk and Sumter counties.

On Tuesday, more than rescuers searched shoulder-to-shoulder in a grid pattern while three helicopters were in the air. Officials with the Lake Wales Fire Department joined the search Tuesday, and more people from other parts of the state are expected out today.

Huff's family has been involved in the search since the beginning.

The search will resume at 7 a.m. today.

Hey WaterLizard,
Interesting reading...you keep up to date on all water related incidences. An expert of sorts. Is the swamp deeper than 3 feet? Water Air Rescue. I like that. Best of luck with your recruiting.
