Who was that? Remind me not to take a ride with him. I'd hate to be a game warden trying to catch that fellow. Is it me or did he get slung outa his seat at the end and was hanging on to his steering stick? He meant to win didn't he? Now thats lettin it all hang out, I do believe I'm too old for that anymore, the ole ticker would have quit right after the first turn.LOL Thanx for the video . Later

Rick,

Cool video!

So that's whay they call em' air boats? Nothin' but air between his hull and the water for sure!

His name is Jamie and the airboat is owned by a guy named Chipper (not sure of their last names). Both are from the Cocoa area.

The boat was built by Diamondback and is extremely lite with a custom bottom. Looked like it had a 540 on it, but it also had some type of turbocharger or something mounted near the prop end of the motor.

Don't know if this is the same guy but how many people can there be in the Cocoa area named Chipper, if so he runs a powder coating place just north of diamondback(2 streets north last place on the left) that just did my boat and I have to say that they did an extremely fine job. Would definitely recommend them.

his butt pucker factor must have been high because i was quenching mine just watching that video.you go son that was some crazy driving.

Great driving & video. The driver here really knows how to handle an airboat. Bobby F. does a commendable job of giving airboaters a place to hang with fantastic entertainment.

However, does anyone else notice a lack of PFD use during the event? (And other Rodeos too!) A helmet may not be a bad idea either.

I believe every type of organized competitive water vessel sport requires a PFD. Here, we have something next to a race & no PFD or helmet use.

So, are we, as a user group, really trying to change our public image?

Do we have any agreement among us that should require PFD & helmet use would be a VERY GOOD idea for this type of event?

If you want good Public Relations and Public Image of our sport, we have to require the simple, common sense things ourselves. If not, someone will be all too happy to eat our lunch when an accident happens, maximize the negative and know we had a hand in creating our own misery.

It's much easier to get BAD PUBLICITY (that will WIPE years of positive PR) than it is to gain hard earned positive PR.

Long live airboating...........

Thanks to Bobby & Fran for the spot for the Kissimmee River Valley Sportmen's Association (KRVSA) raffle boat and thanks to those who support airboating by investing in a chance to win the Diamondback airboat.
