The Lower Platte River Airboat Races will be held on Saturday July 24th, 2010.

Plan on being there. More information will be coming as I learn more about this fun event. I did not get to be there last year but have heard from many people that everyone had a great time.

Use this address on Google Earth to see the general location that the races will be held.
20012 Nebraska 31, Springfield, NE

Last years event was featured in Airboating magazine. Contact platteriverairboats (Eddie) on the forums for more info.

Are these still planned to take place? Anyone have any more details on this? I would like to go, but want to be sure that they are still taking place.

The last I heard these were still on. I will post an update if I hear anything any different.

Do you know anything about the schedule? What time are the races? Are they on Saturday and Sunday and does it cost anything to watch?

Lower Platte Airboat Races - Louisville, NE Boats sign up at 12 Noon, Race at 1:00pm

There is no cost to watch these races. The exact location is not decided yet. They have to find a location on the river to run the races. The ever changing river makes picking the location a bit of a guessing game. It will be up river from the Highway 50 and the Platte River. Last year they were just up river from the walking bridge by South Bend NE. I will be watching from the shore this year myself.

The races were great. I did not get a full count but there must of been more than 40 boats there. They lined up allong the sand bar for about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. I wore myself out walking up and down looking at all of them and watching the races.

Ole Blue won the mens races with his new Night Hawk with a Water Thunder engine. That boat ran great. It was built by Platte River Airboats. I am not sure who won the ladies races. There was a lot of lady drivers this year.....

Airboating Magazine was there and took a lot of photos so maybe they will put some good shots in a up coming issue.

I am not sure if my old body will be up for going out for the drag races on Sunday the 25th.....

We wanted to make it out to the races but we are trying to get my boat done so we can take it to the Loup.

I over did it yesterday so I had to get some rest today. 60 days of being laid up took it's toll on me. Got to get up to speed for next weekend. I will bet that Ole Blue was up there.
