LS3 twin turbo

The only boat I have personally been around that is running twin turbo's period is Nevin with 2Insane. It is not an LS3 but rather a NRE BBC with a 2000hp output. Nelson Racing Engines does turbo the LS platforms and in fact claim patent for some progressive (mirror turbo) technology on their web page.

Since no one posted anything up to this point I will share the link as this is better than nothing to work with.

I've seen 2 sbc boats with turbos , seems it takes longer to spool up turbos than it does for a whipple charger.

I've run a twin turbo 418 LS3 and loved it. Took a little longer to spool on the bottom, but really not that bad. In reality it just feels a tad slower off idle when you compare it to how much power it makes when the boost kicks in at 3000rpm. I wouldn't hesitate to build another one.

I have had a Gen 1 GM 1.6 eco turbo when gas was $4 a gal as a wifey driver prior to putting her in a LS3

The lil turbo was a cool power builder, you would feel it spool.

The science is a turbo done right produces more HP with less internal stress.

Not everyone can master the turbo, it is over my head.

Shane which was the better motor , turbo or supercharged ? I know you have built both.

They both had their benefits for sure Reed...I'd go supercharged though, same power but it's instant.

Do you have a long term report on the LSA build you did last year?

Thanks Shane , thats what Ive seen as well .Pretty much same as on asphalt as in the swamp . Driven a LSA powered and it was instant power , no lag for spool up.

I have a 6.0 LSX with twins. Almost instant spool and more power than you will ever use. Mine is on a 15' deckover spinning a 4 blade JX.
