Osceola Stumpy

Well-known member
The engine ID tag say O-435-4. I know it is and angle valve. I was told that the motor is 265 HP @ 3500 RPM and the engine was in a seaplane.
any help would be great.

thanks Rick
When i get home i will gether all ith ID tag info and check the list.
the compression ratio on the tag is 8.3 to 1 if i remember correctly.

By your the photo of your boat your cylinders look straight valve.

If they look like this or similar they are angle.

the motor that is currently on my boat is straight valve. the new (used) motor that is sitting in my shop is angle valve. I will be changing the motor in the next couple of weeks.

neither of the engines i've had even had an engine ID tag...where are they suppose to be anyways?

side of the oil pan. I see a lot of rebuilders take them off. You should be able to see the rivet holes still though.
