ma5 carb lean out cable

How do y'all setup your cable where it attaches to the carb. I threw mine together quickly and am able to kill the engine with it but cannot push it back to rich to restart. I have to reach through the cage and move the arm by hand. Or is there a cable that I can buy from one of the main builders that is strong enough to push back? Thanks for the advice

thanks for the reply, I am sure they do. Mainly trying to figure out what the best way to hookup to the carb is. I had a 0540 av before the upstack and the carb it had on it was a different connection than this one. like stated I do have one that allows me to kill the engine but can't push it back in

I have a MA 4/5 carb and have mine rigged with a pull cable and a spring to pull the lean out arm back after I release the cable.

I have the carb off waiting on a float. When I get it back together I’ll send you a pic. I actually just use a pull rope not a cable. The spring holds the lean out at full rich and I just pull and hold the rope to lean it out then let it go go and spring pulls it back full rich. My dad has the pull push cable setup but I find his is harder to operate than mine. His you have pull really hard or it won’t lean out, mine is easy to pull and the spring pulls it back easily. The trick is rigging the spring in the right spot. I have the rope tied off next to the instrument panel.

if you have the tall lean/rich lever that swings in near the top of the carb they actually make a return spring for it that bolts right on the carb

It may not be the prettiest setup but it’s easy and effective
