At one point some of us were talking about camping out there on the hill. Maybe the Milkbus or picnic table on the north shore.
But the scuttle that went around at the KRVSA Christmas party was that the water is so low, it's a 200 yard run from the water's edge up to the oak trees.
Our old boat won't make that run empty much less loaded down with all the camping gear. Although, I'm not against a hike. Been doing that a lot lately. It's good exercize.
Laura's work schedule is not out yet, but it looks like she'll be off for 6 days or so after Christmas, and she is thinking about heading back to Florida so we can join y'all on the lake.
Try camping on Hatchineha...the distance to the shade is short and the view is amazing if you stay on the Osceola County side and look west at sundown.....
Now with Laura's schedule in, we're not going to be able to make it. It's just too tight a schedule to get her back up to North Carolina for work in the 2nd.
We wish New Year's best to all our friends!!! ccasion9: ccasion9: :salute: :hello1:
New Years and the Kissimmee chain will always be a special combination for Laura and me. It's the anniversary of my carrying a diamond ring in my pocket camping for 2 days before proposing to Laura at midnight. :love8: While the best New Years party roared on the beach.
I think Me and the wife would like to come if I can get the new cylinder in time. Maybe rent one of those river house too.. I"ll keep my finger cross..
I remember that evening you speak of! This year has been a good one for you and Laura! Now, how are you going to top this new year off???
I'd love to bring in the New Year in the same place as last year....around the fire surrounded by airboats, woods and water....it just doesn't get any better than that!
Yeah Woodswoman - shooting fireworks off from the milk bus beach, then throwing the empty wrappers into the campfire, and realizing there were still some fireworks still in there.... LOL yep, that was some good excitement!
Hey - you brought out a couple trays of some kind of stew or casserole or something.... I hope you think about putting the recipe for that up on Redneck Cusine.com after Rick gets it up and running!!! That was yummy stuff!
I can't think of a better place either. I'm sorry we're going to have to miss it - just this year.
Y'all STAY SAFE and have a GREAT time!!!!!
You guys have a great time and we will miss you as well. I have family who came in for the Christmas holidays and we are spending as much time as possible with them since we do not see them that often. We will be thinking about you.
My Pop used to play with Haggard and Willie, and we'll be having a huge get-together out on lake seminole with him and his old band. any of yall are welcome to come- all the food and drinks are on the house ccasion5:. PM me if yall are interested, we'll have a few boats out there too. If not, hope yall have a HAPPY and SAFE NEW YEAR!!!
Country_Boy, I'm not going to be able to come to y'alls gathering on Seminole but I sure would love to.
One of these days, if you will, post a new thread on here about some of the stories your daddy has told about those two.
I, for one, would love to hear some of them ....... 8) .
Looks like I'm out. Clients from Jersey want to go Sword-fishing Saturday night and the Capt. says you better be at the dock and don't be late. :? I guess it's not so bad, I get payed to fish.
P.S. the weather looks like its going to be nice and hot. The front has stalled and its going to be a great weekend. Have fun
Well, it was a heck of a weekend. I made some new friends and did some hardcore ridin'.
I also learned a few things:
a leather jacket is just the ticket for night ridin'
Don't stop in a shallow washout trail with a sandy mud bottom if the trail is no wider than your boat; you won't be able to wiggle enough to break the suction that will form on your bottom.
