Maiden ice crossing

With many thanks to you folks here on the forum we are now running with confidence.
check out the vid's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxTgBSd98YU

I live on a remote island in northern Ontario, I use the 14' Aircat with a 180hp Lycoming to get back and forth to the mainland.
This is by far the most exhilarating sport I have ever experienced.
On water it will probably go 30mph, once you are on top of the ice it will coast at 30 and probably top 70mph. We have a pair of snowmobile carbide runners mounted just behind the center line of the boat to prevent it from fishtailing.
It will turn on a dime without skidding sideways at slower speeds, way too scary to try and turn hard at faster speeds in case you break through the ice.

Already starting to look for a more capable craft for next year.

been here sense mid 80s from top of N H THAT GOING TO BE A DEFINITE shock when by all means i dont hope it some one hits that water been their its a balls srinker

So far the coldest we have been out running is approx 20 degrees, it will soon drop to well below zero.
At that point we won't need to worry about breaking through the ice and we will use snowmobiles/pick ups for transportation and the air boat just for fun.

TO BAD IT IS SUCH A FAR TRIP I WOULD LOVE TO RUN MY BOAT ON THE SNOW.HELL I HAVEN'T EVER SEEN SNOW BUT ALL THE VIDEO I HAVE SEEN LOOK LIKE A GREAT TIME

That's what I'm talking about!
Sure you freeze your balls off, but it show ya got 'em!

I dunno if I got em or not, after a ride they are too small to find.
We now have a foot of fluffy snow on the ice, when you look back at speed it leaves a huge white blowing trail for about a mile. Sure wouldn't want to be behind it.
