SAFARI RICK

Well-known member
Well first off I'm Safari Rick and I've been working on my boat for right at a year now and today I took it to the river for the first time. WUH HOO I feel like I hit the Lottery, No major oil/water leaks No hull leaks and NOTHIN BROKE!!! had to adjust the prop (needed more pitch) and that was it. No messing with the jacks or motor pitch. Got real lucky meeting the guy that build the rigging, he definitly knew what he was doing(nice gentleman by the name of Dale Back) Boat ran the hill with little effort and planed nicely at about 3500 RPM's rode smooth on water and land, did I mention that I feel like I hit the lottery? I was given some very sound advice from several people on this site and would like to Thank everyone for their input.tried to use as much common sence that I could and I think I set myself up with a really nice boat. As soon as I figure out the digital camera I'll be postiing some pics. of the finished boat. Now all I have to do is learn to drive it.Thanks to everyone that helped.

I hope I know how you feel soon!

From the pics of your motor, I'm sure it's a very nice boat. Congrats

thats great,, I went out today and rode with a buddy that just took his out for the first time and his ran and rode awsome

WAY TO GO SAFARI RICK! congrats. Are you going to trailer down to help us "Raid the Glades" in a few weeks? I hope so. There is no better crew to learn riding from than the gang that goes to these rides. And if anything goes wrong, you have an automatic support team. Just ask Jdotson, stan, or me and laura, or just about ANYONE.... (Thanks yet again Stan for your help out on Lake George. You saved our lives!!!! ) And when it comes to advice from experience, cntry can't be beat. His boating stories are as much entertaining as they are educational! Whoever said "Just because you are a character, dosen't mean you have character" did not know cntry & Stan.

I hope we get to meet you soon! Get to the Glades on Feb 4th!!!! You can't sink in skinny water! From what I understand, 99.9% of the riding is in water less than 2 feet deep!!!

matt.

As soon as I'm alittle more comfortable with it I'll be at one of the monthly runs. You all sound like ya have too much fun NOT TO MAKE TO ONE.
