making it harder to steal

JUST AN IDEA ??? if you only run you boat a couple times a month it would thak a few minutes but pull 1 rim and tire off the trailer and put it up that should make things a lot harder for the thevies to take what we work so hard to get.

Run a still cable though the wheel and around the trailer with a lock. Then a lock on the tung. You can also right around where you store the boat, put a mobile home tie down ancore in the ground with a chain to the trailer. It will slow a theff down, if someone is goning still your boat they are no matter what you do. Thats the truth it's sad but it is. I my self hope they find who took the GENERAL LEE and use them for gator bait.

the only thing is that a lock only takes a second to cut with a pair of bolt cutters a wheel on the other hand you would have to know the lug pattern and the thred of the lug nuts. OR just live in an area with old people all around you that don't have any thing better to do but watch every body and ask you what are you doing. had that happen one thime some one came up walked in my yard (thats all fenced) looking at my boat and the old man next door asked what he was doing then told him to get out of here. so you never know what will happen.

probelm is locks look great (and I use them) but they only are good for keeping honest people honest if a theif wants it they just come with bolt cutters

......now as for the law letting them go...........well Fl has lots of swamps and accedents happenmaybe they just find the boat

CC, that is a good idea.

You could beat out your 1/2-20 studs and put in metric to make it even harder

Maybe you could build a trailer that has a removeable tongue.

You can get wheel boots at most trailer supply stores or at least the one here in bradenton on hwy 64 out by the interstate sells them. If you cant find them let me know and I will see if these folks have a web site if not I will get the phone number for ya'll.
