Well, it's almost done. Over 1050 mosiac tiles pasted and pixel matched - I'm almost done putting the labels & GPS numbers on.

Here is what I have so far:
http://homepage.mac.com/moodfood/.Pictu ... entral.jpg

Please note: this is NOT finished yet. There will be some more labels added, and other minor details.

Please take a look at it and if I got a name wrong, let me know ASAP - since this will be sent off to the printer by the end of the weekend.

The GPS labels on the map are HUGE because they will shrink in size when the resolution is increased.

If you are disappointed that the coverage area is not more.... tough. I can expand this later, but I had to do it at this close view to be able to see some of the smaller trails.

When this is printed, the resolution will be increased (by 4) and the size will be decreased (by 4) which will make this about a 2' by 4' map/poster. They will be printed on gloss paper (for detail) and laminated in 3 mil non-gloss plastic. If you want one of your own, let me know and I'll get you one for only the cost of the printing & shipping. (about $45) I think.

Standby - this will be updated in the next few days.

All GPS numbers have been checked on a very accurate mapping site, The numbers on the map may be slightly different that those listed here.... that is simply because I may have had the mouse pointer in a slightly different location (for instance pulling a number from the ramp or the parking lot or the water in front of the ramp).

Last chance for suggestions or corrections is NOW.

:)

NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

Thanks for all the hard work. I don't know anything about the area so I cant offer changes but I would most likely want a copy of it. Let me know the price when it is done.
Tim

looks good, does anyone have the rocks in front of and around the corner of Bergeron's marked? If the water is low they will get you!

Man! Thats FANTASTIC. I never get down there, but thats a helluva job. Great work. What a great tool for those who do run down there, worth every cent and more. Great job.

I'm glad everyone likes it. Just to get something straight... I'm not "selling" these - I make these maps because I like to and I make them for my own use. I will be buying a print, and I'll buy one for anyone who wants one too... but I'm not selling them. More fun to give them away. :) (my time, that is... about 80 hours went into making this one!)

Here is a thumbnail of what the whole thing looks like. I just need to confirm that I got the mm#'s of the ramps correct... I think I'm a little confused on that one.

I think this is reduced to 6% of the original size.

The western limits of this map are a mile or so west of Duck Camp. I 'll add to it later.... someday. But I wanted to include the far eastern side for the benefit of the folks staying at Holiday Park. WHen I get a chance... could be a month or several... I'll extend this further west... and south too. This size is really pushing the limit of what my dinosaur computer can handle. The photoshop file is 0ver 225MB and it takes about 5 minutes just to render the image when I open the file!!! To put that size in perspective, if I were to somehow copy the map file to a floppy disk, it'd take about 150 floppies to hold it all. It's a BIG file.

Hopefully by tonight, I'll have the last of the last details added and uploaded. It will be at the above link.

The detail will be so good in the printout, I'm going to keep a magnifying glass with my copy! There are some small trails shown in there!

:)

Well you should sell them for a little profit, cause its a really cool Map Mood.
But I fully understand where your comming from.
P.M. me your address, and the amount the prints will cost.

I'll send you my money on the front end, before you place your order with the printer. I'll get it from ya when I see ya.

Thanks Cntry - Here's one more for ya...

It seems the route from Holiday to Duck is a pretty straight forward trail - Duck is along the Holiday Trail - but getting started on the trail is the only sticky point. There is a place you could take a wrong turn and end up going out of your way on some of the deep water canals. To avoid that, get the right start on the Holiday Trail.

I made up a small aerial image showing the right and wrong way to go. I've NEVER been there and here I am giving directions!!! So, you guys who are down in those parts - feel free to correct me. :)

Here is a miniture of the image:

and you can see the full size map here:

Hope this helps.

The small ramp at the West end of the complex is where the private boats put in. It's the Western most ramp, with the small center dock. I'm not sure, but you may have to drive around the back of the store, through the campground access road to get to it.

I've never launched there, but I hear that they get pissed if airboats launch at the ramp right in front of the store, so ask them when you check in for the campground spot you rent.

BTW,
Nice freakin map there Mood!

Thanks Matt for the personalized map so I don't get lost right off the bat. I have downloaded it and will print it out. Thank you

Oh by the way can you zoom in on the good froggin spots so I can find them quicker I have a feelin stan is lookin for a payback for me. LOL

guys you have to go through a break in the leeve watch out for fishing boats coming down river they are kinda hard to see

Thanks lyc200 we will do it. Stan you skunked me when I took you fishin so I was getting redeemed LOL although I may have over done it a little but I am sure next time will be different. I wouldn't have done so good if those frogs were not so big I started out gigging the babies which were about normal for kiss or okeechobee but then when I found the big ones my gig pole was bending with them on it and I got carried away. The one I wanted was the one that blocked the chute ride with his front legs now that one was seriously large.

Well it looks like there will be no moon out this weekend so the frogs should be up. I didn't see many last weekend but I am hoping they come out for all of us. Water should be nice for frogging, not deep at all.

Larry
