maps

What's up Grouper Gitter. Nice to meet ya. Thanks Larry and Gold

If anyone needs to reach me I've got voice-mail if I'm not around - I don't screen calls! I think I have the only cell phone without caller ID!!! (Actually, it's there, just too small of letters for my eyes to read it) LOL

I've got all the maps I've had all along - but I'm TRYING to finish up a new map of AREA 3 Glades in it's entirety, and another of AREA 2 in it's entirety. Both of those are close to being finished. I'm excited about this new area 3 map. Just a few hurdles left for me to complete it.

Also I've recently finished a map which is not listed on my site yet.... Of the St. Johns river from Hwy 46 north to Lake Monroe. Includes all of lakes Harney & Jesup and the river areas between them. It shows Lake Monroe too - up to the Port Of Sanford.

These things are expensive for me to have made - so I don't keep an inventory. When you order a map, I have to order it from my print shop and it does take a week or two usually to get it in. So don't wait till the last minute to order! :)

Matt are you titling all the camps in area 3 on the map?

Yes, to the best of my ability.

Main reason for this is that the Broward Fire/Rescue folks are interested in the map as well, and having "common names" for these camps can aid in getting out there faster.... i.e. 'I'm injured - just a little west of XYZ camp".

I realize that the names of camps change from time to time as owners change. And I also understand that some camp owners feel as if I'm revealing something private. I am trying to respect all, and am getting most of my info from PUBLIC RECORDS as well as local 'common knowledge'. No secrets to be revealed about camp owners/members or lock combinations.

Once I get my office set up in the new house - First thing I'll be doing is finishing up those glades maps. I just can't get organized enough in the recliner with the laptop on my lap and the couch cushion for a desk. I need a REAL desk to do this work. Lots of math getting the GPS grid numbers to line up correctly - and lots of notes with camp coords and all sorts of other info to organize.

Buy the map you need, and you`ll want them for every area you mite want to ride  They are great maps you will NOT be disappointed or find a better map anywhere!! I still want more of them but works slow so I have to wait

I'd love to get that map when your done. I know a lot of guys bought their camps because they are a little hidden and harder to find but with the availability to google map and see them took secrecy away before you did. Let us know when its done

Hey ya'll,

Can't say enough about this man's maps! I bought one of the first, now have two, (after donating one for an auction). Have seen one auctioned for over $800.00!

Get the waterproof one like I got though, (Mood knows how rough I am on stuff)! Just throw it into a wet open box on the boat and be confident it'll be there ready to use a month from now!

When the camps were registered with water management for the leases, all the GPS numbers and rough blue prints of the camps were part of the deal. You are not letting out any secrets that can't be found in public records with a little searching.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I've worked hard to make these things look good.

Y'all really know how to encourage someone! I appreciate it!!! :)

I think a good arial photo map is invaluable. I know he doesn't make them for where I run so I print out screen shots from google earth for the area I am about to explore. I like to zoom in so I can get some detail and that makes for small maps, I then just cover them in packing type tape. there not the best but they keep my oriented when I get back in the woods and several sloughs cross each other it's easy to get turned around. Can I order something from my area printed on waterproof map paper so I can have a big map instead of a bunch of little ones.
