Max. RPM on Lyc. 1-290?

Just would like to know what the max. rpm is on my Lycoming 0-290. I have an IVO 3 blade composite 68". Thanks!

per lycoming service bulletin 369J, 0-290 D2 rated continuous RPM is 2600, with a maximum 5-minute rating of 2800 RPM.
My previous boat was a 10 ft thurman full deck (single seat of course), with 3/8 polymer, and a narrow 68" sensinich wood prop (I believe 68x32 or 34). The boat ran land with the exception of the stickiest mud, but ran the skinny fast enough to leave most anyone behind. The boat would turn the prop 2750, but my power band seemed to be in the 2600-2650 range. All on pump gas, it never liked 100LL. Hope this helps. Oh and my lyc. was an 0-290D, with 6.5:1 compression and about 52 years old.

Yeah that helps thanks, don't have a tach yet but have a hand held one I'm going to use to see what she's turning. My hull is 12 x 7 Laser and will run some dry ( haven't tried too much though ) was just curious about top end and not pushing too hard. Thanks again
