i though somone said they had a airboat with a rotary engine rx7,,,,,, trans?????????

possible 300h.p............ weight is 270lbs ...what type of gear box,how much was it.

rotary motors don't make much torque so I would think you would need a big reduction like a 2.68.

Those rotary engines are capable of turning well in excess of 10,000 RPM's. A reduction of 3to1 or higher would be more advantagious. they make reductions for the Mazda's for peoples small airplanes but they are expensive, but then again everything is expensive in this hobby if you want to take advantage of technological breakthroughs.

hi garrett theres a picture of a mazda rotary in my pics file it belongs to a good freind of mine if you have any questions ask away???

Something to remember about the rotary engines is that the output shaft is turning at twice the speed of the rotor itself, so the engine doesn't make much torque on it's own ....... that has to all be done with belt or gear reduction.
