Some people use DOM and i was thinking of it this time around. I have seen some boats with the seat package made of 1/2 inch and it really looks nice and clean plus I like the smaller pipe look. But my question is what wall thickness do you need with it so it will be strong but yet not weigh alot in weight. The motor stand will not be 1/2 inch just the seat stand and cage.

If you only want 1/2" you will need extra braces to keep it strong but also It depends on the type of running you do most wall thickness is .065 but for 1/2" Dom that's to small you will be repairing it alot

I had my old glass hull with all 1/2 square tubing and it is 4 or 5 years old and still has not cracked but with square you have 4 flat sides this boats is all square 1/2"
