MINI hull plans

I looked at that picture and thought for second that 1975 had came back again! Not to say their rigging is overbuilt or anything, but I believe that engine stand could hold a 502 without being overstressed :laughing3:

Also same site.
(without the google image search enveloping frame)
Dang google just loves them long links.

Interesting little boat. The specs say it can reach 28+ mph in shallow water with a 10 hp motor????!!!!
In what universe?

My dad and I built that same boat. w/10hp briggs w/42in arrowprop. the boat wouldn't get on plane in shallow water with a 30mph tail wind a bunch of BS :!: neighbor built the same thing w/ 1/4 in plywood and tried to make lighter . same thing. plus we sunk it from my boat wake :P

The green mini I have was build from these plans. We have a 36x24 prop and a 23hp briggs. I had a 42" 3 blade on it but it came apart. Do you still have the prop you try to use? I need a bigger prop.

Wow! Don't know what went wrong for you. heres a video of my one seater built from the LakeBuggy plans. In the opening scene the water is over 8 feet deep through there. It won't get on plane in the deep water but anything 2 feet and under it's not a problem. In really shallow water 2-10 inches it planes very very fast and will get going pretty fast. The guy driving in this video is a friend of mine that had never been on an airboat before so he was light on the throttle for the most part, It will go faster than what is depicted in the video.

I kinda copied NWFB's boat in the above video. If you look in the photo area under my name there's some pics. I'm running a 13hp honda clone with a 42" arrowprop and I'd guess the performance is right on par with the green one in the video. Where I run, my boat is fast enough and the river channels are small enough that I rarely even run it wide open, about 1/2-3/4 throttle and it's stays on plane. Any faster and I'd be crashing into logs and river bank, I found out the hard way that my boat don't corner like an Indy car.

in the early 80's I built one almost like the one pictured but I didn't beef it up so much. Used 3/8" plywood with 1" by1" wood for framework, 1 1/2" angle iron for motor mount, 10 hp tecumseh motor, 3/4"rigid electrical conduit for cage and two blade prop. This boat would indeed go 20-25 mph up or down the platte river here in the nebraska panhandle if you didn't have a headwind to buck. It took awhile to get up on plane in deep water like a lake and I weighed about 160 lb. Thinkin' about building another one now.

Olf, I decided to build a mini! After I finish my Toyota boat i'll start on it. Can you guys give me specs for a mini. Give me suggestion...

Yeah Olf Art, it probqably would have worked better with more contact surface, but that was one of the things that made it easy to build. The bottom was just a 4 by 8 piece of plywood. It really did work well on our river here and now with the lack of water in this part of the country the river is perfect for airboating all year round.

Goldwater2, the boat was sort of awkward to get in and out of the water, but a buddy built one with me and two guys could pick one up and carry it easily.
